This process involves using a UV light to activate a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel. This is a very strong gel, so a liquid barrier is placed on the gums, before the gel is mixed and applied to the teeth. What To Expect
It is important to note that some patients may experience tooth sensitivity during the whitening process. This is sometimes due to the whitening agent penetrating the stain in the pores of the tooth enamel. This process can cause some patients to experience mild discomfort, however, this discomfort is temporary and will subside within 24-48-hours.
